The Digital Solutions Team continues to expand to meet the challenges of providing a best-in-class digital consumer experience to our Anthem members and we are looking for a skilled professional with a valuable mix of skills and experience to help us achieve these goals. Reporting to the Director of Consumer Transparency, the individual in this role will be responsible for serving as the liaison between the business and IT in translating complex business needs into our member-facing Consumer Transparency digital applications. Our Consumer Transparency solutions span capabilities associated with searching for different types of providers, getting cost estimates for various services, as well as the ability to learn about various elements of provider quality designations, scores, and reviews.
The position requires experience in core business analyst roles and responsibilities, with a particular focus on health care member data (e.g., benefits, eligibility) and consumer-facing digital products. We are looking for self-starters with a track record of demonstrating solid initiative, problem solving, and anticipatory thinking – all in a complex and fast-paced digital product environment .Primary duties of the Consumer Transparency Business Analyst include, but are not limited to:
Analyzes complex end user needs to determine optimal means of meeting those needs.
Determines specific business application software requirements to address complex business needs.
Drives and assists Project Management Team in the documentation of business requirements for each release; works with internal and external partners to refine and finalize requirements
May assist Project Management Team in developing/refining project plans and identifies and coordinates resources, involving those outside the unit.
Works with internal and external team members to ensure requirements will be incorporated into system design and testing; may assist in User Acceptance Testing and/or Release Check-Out activities as required
Acts as a resource to the internal users of our Consumer Transparency solutions to address questions/issues.
May provide direction and guidance to internal team members and external vendor partners, and serves as an expert for the team.
Requires a BS/BA degree, 5-7 years of business analysis experience that includes knowledge of systems capabilities and business operations; or any combination of education and experienced, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred qualifications include:
Demonstrated strategic, analytic and critical thinking skills, combined with an ability to adjust course based on data/research findings.
Demonstrated track record of being a self-starter with solid initiative, problem solving, and anticipatory thinking – all in a complex and fast-paced digital product environment.
Demonstrated experience with developing business requirements. Experience with digital product requirements a plus.
Strong written/verbal communication skills and experience presenting information and updates to leadership.
Experience working with cross-functional teams across operations, IT, product.
Demonstrated experience Strong leading/facilitating cross-functional discussions.
Ability to work independently and navigate organizational complexities to obtain support/resources needed to move initiatives forward
Demonstrated experience working with vendors in an operational capacity
Additional experience that is preferred:
o Experience with digital product development and management
o Experience with Anthem-specific operations, data, and/or IT
o Experience with a variety of development methods, including Agile and Waterfall.
o Experience working remotely for extensive periods of time
