Contracts Manager or Senior Contracts Negotiator – IAMD Programs Raytheon IDS, Andover, MA An excellent Contracts management opportunity exists within Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) in Andover, MA. We are looking for an experienced Contracts professional with experience working within the Government Contracting arena. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the Patriot Multi-National Programs Business Area, as the Contracts Lead for United States (U.S.) and Foreign Military Sale (FMS) Sustainment Contracts. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, results oriented professional with demonstrated success in contracts work or other related business function. The person must be able to interact effectively with external as well as internal customers. Duties will include participation in front-end assessment of business pursuits, proposal preparation, preparation of contract memorandums, contract negotiation, contract administration, and significant customer activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment of contract requirements in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. Raytheon IDS is a challenging, fast-paced environment. The Contract Professional supporting this key business area is responsible for management of the customer relationship, the provision of business counsel and leadership to the Program Management Teams, together with expedited proposal, negotiation and/or definitization of contracts that are critical to IDS and IAMD Programs. You should be able to easily recognize contractual issues in program performance, then implement solutions that will carry these issues to completion, all while exercising good judgment and solid business acumen. You should be able to forge effective customer relationships and leverage other functional area partners to create innovative solutions that can be utilized to increase future business. PLEASE NOTE - This position can be a Salary Grade G09 or G10 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the experience, skills, and responsibility requirements for the position. Responsibilities: Display an advanced understanding of business relationships and contract structures, while demonstrating an exemplary level of business acumen. Differentiate between routine and non-routine contract elements and terms, and be able to make recommended solutions. Using sound management principles, broker closure to general business agreements, i.e., teaming agreements, proprietary information agreements, etc., along with understanding of management, organization, planning and controls. Recognize business and contractual issues in program performance, implement solutions; carry to completion, while exercising good judgment with minimal supervision. Negotiate sound business deals with its customers and to provide governance to the program team in carrying out the terms of the contract. Apply tenets of Raytheon’s principles of Customer Focused Marketing to establish and maintain effective customer relationships based on performance, relationships, solutions and ethical conduct. Required Experience and Skills: Experience working as Contracts Manager of large DoD Production Contracts Experience working with various contract types Experience working with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and/or equivalent government regulations 8 years of professional experience Experience with contract & financial structures, pricing strategies, policy & procedure and compliance principles. Must be comfortable and effective working in a team environment Must be able to work with minimal supervision at times and within a fast-paced multitask environment Excellent and effective written & verbal communication skills with both internal and external customers. Ability to travel (Huntsville, Al 10%) Desired Education and Skills: Knowledge of intellectual property Advanced degree (Masters or J.D.) NCMA Certification (CPCM or CFCM) Demonstrated ability to develop advanced concepts and solutions to unusual problems that involve a high degree of ingenuity, creativity and innovation.
