BridgeView IT is seeking a Manager of Network Operations and have overall responsibility for managing a West Coast network team to ensure efficient operation of the network. This position will also work closely with a global team of operations managers to provide 24/7/365 Level 2 and Level 3 network support. In addition, this position will work closely with his peers to develop and enhance best practice process and standards for the global network team and drive operational excellence within the entire network operations group.
The position serves as the escalation point for client issues, major incidents and will drive the problem resolution process as well as manage, monitor and assign all network changes and incidents for the west coast team adhering to ITIL processes to provide a high level of client support resulting in a high level of client satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manage a team of local network operations engineers supporting clients in the Santa Clara Data Center as well as supporting clients other data centers in US and UK.
Serve as the escalation point for support and troubleshooting issues relating to network operations. Will also serve as point for cross teams professionals within the organization to ensure prompt resolution of customer issues.
Requires full technical knowledge and thorough understanding of business applications /services sold to the clients to provide a high level of client support while maintaining high SLA’s
Must be able to convey ideas effectively to both technical and business SMEs within the organization.
Using problem management tools and ITSM provide leadership team with reports outlining options to address recurring issues and possible automation options to remediate quickly
4 year degree in Computer Science or Information Systems/Technology or equivalent job experience (5+ years of data network design, planning and support experience)
5+ years of experience as a team lead / manager leading network operations
10+ years of experience with Cisco routers and switches
Preferred 5+ years of experience with Cloud technology and VMWare expertise
Preferred 5+ years of experience with a service provider / delivering managed services
5+ years of hands on experience with VPN technology
5+ years of hands on experience with ACLs, Firewalls, and/or Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
Extensive working knowledge of IP routing protocols including OSPF, ISIS, MPLS/LDP, and BGP
Candidates must demonstrate a high level of understanding of network principles, including routing protocols, security, advanced networking functionality across various vendors and ISP practices.
Must be able to function effectively in a team environment to accomplish team goals
Must have the ability to facilitate and lead meetings of peers within the organization.
Must have the ability to facilitate and lead meetings with other departments to determine network dependencies and produce solutions to meet the business needs
CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP preferred
ITIL Foundation certification is preferred
VMware certification is preferred
Software define network experience is a plus
Bachelor's degree (B. A./B. S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
