PERFORMANCE SUPPORT DESIGNER II

Job Summary:

Responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and implementing interactive performance support solutions.

Primary duties my include but are not limited to:

  1. Analyzes designs, develops, and implements interactive performance support solutions, such as interactive decision guides, and other online or mobile job aids in support of just-in-time decision capabilities.

  2. Authors support material using technical writing standards.

  3. Conducts change management activities to ensure successful adoption and use of tools.

  4. Provides thought leadership and implements forward-thinking performance support tools in support of Anthem’s goals.

  5. Participates in quality review process.

  6. Accountable for alignment of tools with business work processes.

  7. May partner with business SMEs on expected business outcomes.

  8. Participates in data analysis and business problem investigation in order to effectively support implementation of developed solutions.

  9. Collaborates with content owners, graphic designers, technology consultants and technologists, and other project team members on requirements, design, development and implementation of projects.

    1. Interprets requirements, designs, builds, and implements business aligned interactive performance support tools and solutions using a variety of techniques and tools, possibly including coding with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

    2. Envisions, proposes and designs improvements to tools to enhance usability.

    3. May perform configuration management duties or content management duties within development and production environments.

    4. Responds to and troubleshoots solution bugs, defects, or performance issues.

    5. Assists with technical root-cause analysis when needed.

    6. Gathers ideas and solutions from the learning industry and matches them to emerging or unclear business needs.

  7. Uses data analysis techniques as well as a deep understanding of the business to identify solutions for complex problems.

  8. Collaborates with content owners, graphic designers, technology consultants and technologists, and other project team members on requirements, design, development and implementation of projects.

  9. Performs analysis, interprets requirements, designs, builds, and implements business aligned interactive performance support tools and solutions using a variety of techniques and tools, possibly including coding with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

    1. Envisions, proposes and designs improvements to tools to enhance usability.

    2. Performs configuration management duties within development and production environments.

    3. Also, guides internal versus external hosting decisions in collaboration with IT.

    4. Responds to and troubleshoots solution bugs, defects, or performance issues.

    5. Performs technical root-cause analysis in order to guide problem resolution.

    6. Gathers ideas and solutions from the learning industry and matches them to emerging or unclear business needs.

    7. Builds and maintains standard templates, style guides, outputs and testing criteria for all support tools.

    8. Assists manager with work assignments and Performance Support strategy.

    9. Coaches and mentors junior team members.

PERFORMANCE SUPPORT DESIGNER II

  • Requires a BA/BS in education, learning technologies, instructional design or related field.

  • 2-4 years of experience in related field, including 2 years in the development of informal learning or interactive decision supports tools.

  • Any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Master’s preferred.

  • Ability to negotiate at all levels of the business. Development and implementation of forward-thinking, practical solutions that drive results, managing multiple priorities within a complex, fast-paced virtual team environment (required).

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects (required).

  • Ability to operate in an evolving and ambiguous environment (required).

  • Experience maintaining interactive decision support tools (required).

  • Experience working with enterprise social collaboration technologies (required).

  • Demonstrated ability to stay ahead of evolving learning technologies (preferred).

  • Experience integrating solutions into multiple technology platforms, including LMS, content management systems, document repositories, etc. (preferred).

  • Knowledge of total talent management strategies (preferred).

PERFORMANCE SUPPORT DESIGNER SR

  • Requires a BA/BS in education, learning technologies, instructional design or related field.

  • 5 or more years of experience in related field, including 3 years in the development of informal learning or interactive decision support tools.

  • Any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Master’s preferred.
