American Tower Associate Business Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts
*SUMMARY:* The Associate Business Analyst ("Associate Analyst") reviews and analyzes business systems and processes to develop understanding of user needs. The Associate Analyst supports custom application(s) by troubleshooting and resolving production problems within assigned functional areas. This position helps resolve production issues, document business requirements and test changes to applications. The Associate Analyst must be able to work independently, with little or no supervision, on various project-related items.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* * Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting of user and application problems within an assigned business area * Work with Business Analysts to develop functional expertise within an assigned business area, focusing on the analysis, design, and implementation of business processes and applications * With little or no direction, document system functions and processes for the IT group and selected items for internal business customers * Collect and document stated requirements, if needed, under the guidance of a Business Analyst * Integrate project activities with Quality Assurance and Software Developers to ensure successful implementation and support of projects * Foster and maintain good relationships with internal teams and business partners * Maintain all project tasks through the production ticket system or project server on a weekly basis. Keep Project Manager informed of any issues * Create and execute test scripts with others to ensure that post-production issues are minimal

*QUALIFICATIONS:* * Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies * Ability to learn new applications and follow IT processes * Ability to understand business and IT concepts and understand the impact of business changes on systems * Ability to leverage tools from the BABOK * Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs as needed * Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively * Ability to work in a time-sensitive and high volume environment * Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of or experience with related tools (e.g., Visio, Project, SnagIt, UPK) is preferred but not expected. * Detail oriented, able to multi-task and meet deadlines * Self-motivated; able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and to collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify quality solutions.
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:* * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. * Professional experience in business analysis preferred * Exposure to relational databases and query tools preferred * Experience in tower business, operations, leasing or real estate preferred * If supporting financial applications, prior experience in a finance and accounting environment is preferred.
*ENVIRONMENT:* * 100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Approximately 0-15% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear.
