Position Summary: This position provides business analysis, data management and technical support to the Sales Business Solutions team. Under minimum supervision, this role requires a comprehensive understanding all sales data needs and the impact on business requirements for sales initiatives. The Data Analyst is responsible for providing detail data and developing complex reporting to sales leaders and other business areas. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting sales application issues, identifying root cause, and recommending a solution. The Data Analyst is also required to become a subject matter expert on sales applications and workflows across the Sales Division. The Data Analyst will assist in leading cross functional teams on multiple projects accountable for ensuring data and technical design aligns with business needs. The job responsibilities vary along with the phase of the project and with production support requests. Throughout all phases of projects the Data Analyst meets regularly with the project teams to accomplish the objectives presented in the below description.Major Responsibilities:

  • Represents the interests of the Sales division on projects and production support by understanding, creating and translating business data requirements into system requirements while working with IT and vendor partners to ensure that system and data design aligns with requirements and business needs.

  • Accountable for ensuring system design and data design align with business goals and strategies.

  • Subject matter expert for sales systems providing system administration (if needed), troubleshooting support and solutions; provide expertise for new product and initiatives and help to ensure critical sales systems are enhanced to handle our changing business needs.

  • Help troubleshoot production data and reporting issues, identify root causes and implement necessary coding updates.

  • Maintain and manage rating engine product data base including the configuration all product rules.

  • Work with detail Sales data to develop and produce standard, ad hoc analysis and reports.

  • Facilitate and/or participates in cross functional workgroups, as needed, to ensure project deliverables are met; assist with the identification and mitigation of project issues and risks; and understand how data affect sales application and workflow and conversely how sales application and workflow changes impact data.

  • Accurately prepares written business and technical correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, professional and engaging.

  • Develop and/or assist in creating use cases, business scenarios and testing strategies.

  • Write, review and execute test plans.

  • Leads root cause analysis efforts leveraging IT and SME’s across the organization.

  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with key external and internal customers.

Qualifications: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

  • Business data analysis skills to be able to ensure that system design aligns with business requirements.

  • Must be detail oriented, and have solid analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Must be able to interpret, articulate and document business needs and process flows.

  • Must have the ability to understand the impact of data changes on applications and workflows to develop future possible solutions and suggestions.

  • Must be self motivated, professional, results oriented and promote a positive team spirit.

  • Have the ability to take calculated actions when needed in complex or ambiguous situations to help set a direction or resolve issues.

  • Expert knowledge of databases manipulation and spreadsheet applications.

  • Ability to extract, cleanse, integrate Sales account and membership data from various platforms and sources.

  • Creative problem solving skills with strong verbal and communication skills.

  • In depth knowledge of software development life cycle.

  • Understand the necessity of project standards and applies them consistently.

  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Experience and Education:

  • BS/BA degree required

  • 5-7 years project experience in all phase of the software development lifecycle.

  • 3-4 years data analysis and manipulation experience.

  • Health insurance experience preferred.

  • Experience developing data requirements.

  • Experience with business process improvement and redesign.

  • Experience with Salesforce strongly preferred.
