The Director of EUC and Hosting is responsible for leading a geographically dispersed engineering team in the delivery and support of engineering solutions that are aligned with approved business initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and documentation of systems (Microsoft Windows, Vmware, UNIX and Linux variants), operating in a heterogeneous global computing environment.

  • Execute on the strategic roadmap for End User Services that addresses end-user pain points and drives adoption of core services while ensuring high user satisfaction

  • Develop strategy, policies and service delivery objectives and best practices for the design and delivery of end user support solutions

  • Development of technical and organizational implementation blueprints related to EUC and hosting solutions.

  • Decomposition of business services into Infrastructure services

  • Transition strategy

  • Technical change details

  • Organizational changes

  • Adheres to enterprise system, security and networking standards as it relates to architecture, design and deployments.

  • Provide sponsorship for, and oversight of process improvement initiatives

  • Introduce meaningful metrics and reporting to measure the effectiveness of the Solutions Engineering team

  • Contribute to and support a culture of continual service improvement for ITSM processes.

  • Integrates functional strategies and develops specific objectives for the sub-function(s) and develops policies/procedures to support the solution.

  • Develops rationale and approves exceptions to policy tied directly to the sub-function or relevant area of responsibility.

  • Accountability/Org Impact:

  • Manage a significant departmental sub function or multiple smaller sub-functions within a broader IT function.

  • Develops proposed budgets for VP approval and manages budget once approved.

  • Broad knowledge of all areas within particular IT sub-functions.

  • Apples depth of knowledge in function derived from experience in non-management and middle management roles

  • Develops self and others to achieve our goals. In management positions this includes selections and talent management.

  • Develops future leaders;

  • Creates opportunities for development that will stretch individuals outside their current comfort zone and prepare them for a role at the next level;

  • In addition to satisfying the immediate needs of the team and the job, considers the longer-term needs of the organization when selecting and hiring individuals from within and outside of Iron Mountain.

  • Develop and mentor staff to promote strong engagement across the Engineering team

  • Establish and maintain strong strategic partnerships with suppliers and vendors

  • Manage escalations related to committed deliverables

  • Ensure all staff adhere to agreed time capture requirements

  • Produce regular and accurate management reports related to deliverable status, optimal resource utilization, and progress of improvement initiatives.

  • Present to Senior Leaders on status of initiatives and service improvements


Functional Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Provides support, direction and guidance to Global Engineering team members, supervising and coordinating their activities and assisting team members in reaching their potential performance levels.

  • Manages team interactions to obtain optimal team and department performance.

  • The Global Engineering Director of EUC and Hosting is expected to develop in-depth knowledge of the organization's business lines and products.

  • Leadership skills are required to facilitate positive change and drive the delivery of key business outcomes.

  • Develops innovative and practical solutions to project challenges, identifies and works proactively with all levels of the Organization to mitigate risks and issues. Collaborates with Support teams, Subject Matter Experts and Project Managers to develop and implement realistic short term and long term solutions.

  • This role primarily focuses on IT infrastructure Engineering. Expected results for this role include cost avoidance through more efficient use of resources, improved project delivery and stakeholder management, and improved accuracy of project forecasting.

  • All IT staff and 3rd party partners that contribute to delivering business-initiated projects. Business unit stakeholders that require infrastructure delivered as part of a broader scope of work.

  • Willingly applies their knowledge of PMP best practice while maintaining a flexible approach that enables and encourages collaboration across teams and functional areas. The ability to influence others at all levels is key, as well as team leadership and meeting facilitation skills.

  • Total travel: Up to 20%
