Position Description: State Street Global Markets FX Sales and Trading business is embarking on a multiyear strategic growth initiative which will focus in maximizing market share growth rate while expanding into new and emerging foreign exchange markets and products/services. As part of this growth strategy State Street Global Markets Technology is seeking talented Foreign Exchange (FX) IT professionals to join an already established team who will engineer the next generation of FX applications. Candidates will work closely with business users, developers and testers to build applications to support State Street’s FX electronic trading, sales trading, risk management trading and customer products such as StreetFX. Candidates with a track record for delivery and market experience developing solutions for foreign exchange trading and e-trading market participants will find opportunities to leverage their real life experience in a highly collaborative global organization.

State Street Global Markets Business Technology Solution (BTS) group is looking for Program Manager in Boston to help build out and lead the FX data governance program. This is a new role within the FX BTS team and will require coordination across Global Markets and other State Street business and technology teams. This role will have potential expansion into projram management within the BTS organization. This IT Program Manager will join a team that develops and supports current business applications, including responding to risk management and global regulatory reform requirements and supporting the business reporting databases. The team will also integrate new product and technology solutions developed within the new program to existing systems and be responsible for assuring reliability and resiliency of mission critical trading systems. The candidates’ main responsibility will be to design and implement an FX data strategy aligned with the corporate data strategy. In this role, the candidate will work closely with data architect and the business data stewards. This person must immerse themselves within the FX transaction flow and regulatory reporting to understand all aspects of data usage. This role will also focus on driving consumers to re-usable data content, creating a consistent language amongst data consumers while increasing integrity and reliability across the continuum. The position requires an individual who can effectively multitask and manage a variety of on-going initiatives simultaneously, has a vision for holistic problem solving, and a passion for improved efficiencies and accountability along the data supply chain. As a Program Manager, the candidate will be responsible for defining and preparing all project documentation to meet internal Project standards and comply with all audit and governance requirements- for US and non-US regions. Individual must be able to effectively work and communicate across the global organization including Business Sponsors, Project Managers, onshore/offshore Development and QA teams located globally. Program Management role includes the coordination and communication with end users for UAT planning and execution as well as risk assessment to insure projects stay on track and are delivered on-time without business disruption. Program Manager must be willing to work off-hours to support both IT and Business global resources throughout the duration of each project. In this role, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Directly support the technical data steward in managing the collection and maintenance of key business metadata; including data definitions, rules, lineage, lifecycle, security, privacy, process, organization, physical location and application models.

  • Assist the technical data steward in managing the demand queue by assisting in planning sessions, Epic/story break down and business process design.

  • In conjunction with other stewards, manage the remediation of data issues; work with application support and business teams to resolve production data issues. Analyze root cause and, with an eye towards continuous improvement, manage queue of data quality controls that require implementation to safe guard against a second occurrence.

  • Understand the business direction, processes, rules, requirements, deficiencies, and advise technical data steward with insight and guidance to make informed decisions; escalate concerns.

  • Provide Strategic Planning support by preparing materials for Business Budgeting, Investment Council and CTS/ADM Management meetings, which help align BST projects with strategic objectives.

  • Provide regular written and verbal updates to senior management detailing status, issues and risks of programs

  • Proficient in MS excel, access and database analytic/query tools.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services, preferably: Capital Markets and Foreign Exchange or Derivatives

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a data quality and management

  • Individual must be able to effectively work and communicate across the global organization including Business and Technology executives, managers and staff around the globe (EMEA, Boston and Asia Pacific are the primary centers)

  • Proven ability to drive change and transform an IT organization in a meaningful and sustainable way, including the governance of modern agile development methodologies and compliance with banking IT controls and policies

  • Familiarity of the global banking regulatory reform (Dodd-Frank, EMIR), compliance and IT policies is a plus

  • Self-motivated, analytical, and detailed oriented individual with a dedication to providing quality deliverables in an accurate and timely manner

  • Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies and demonstrated use of tools and project organization structure include agile methodologies and experience

  • Candidate must demonstrate adaptability to strategic changes and demonstrate strong initiative and motivation skills

  • Ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment, while maintaining the value proposition

  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem solving skills

  • Strong resource and budget management

  • Active participation in industry working groups to support and advocate proposed data strategy changes and industry standards
