Job Description

The Software Quality Assurance Automation Lead is responsible for working with a team of software quality professionals to develop an automation framework to test CCA’s technology platform and tools. CCA's systems have largely grown up from a small-company environment to an environment requiring high availability, accessibility, ease of use, technological sophistication, reliability in handling complex data, and large user base. Integration between and among technology layers is vital to maintaining accurate, timely and robust service delivery to our members and providers. Working closely with the business, application and IT infrastructure teams, the Software Quality Assurance Automation Lead will analyze business and technical problems, work with software engineers and develop the appropriate testing framework and policies to enable CCA’s technology solutions to scale.


  • Design automation test strategies, plans, scenarios, scripts and procedures based on manual test plans, utilizing industry standard testing methodologies or processes

  • Document software defects utilizing a defect tracking system and perform triage of defects; monitor defect resolution efforts and track successes

  • Document test plans, test cases, test execution and summary reports to ensure repeatability and compliance with standards

  • Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates; prioritizing work with general direction/minimal supervision

  • Coordinate with the infrastructure team to manage test environments and configurations

  • Provide feedback and recommendations to developers regarding software usability and functionality; Communicate project status to management team

  • Coordinate with data quality team to implement testing strategies for data quality assurance

Required Skills

  • 8+ years testing experience

  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a lead role, responsible for coordination of test activities and status reporting in addition to development and execution of test strategies, plans, and test cases; comfortable providing recommendations and identifying risks and mitigation plans

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience data-driven automation testing and demonstrated ability to build a test automation strategy from the ground up

  • Experience with one or more testing frameworks (e.g. Cucumber, Serenity, TestNG)

  • Solid working knowledge of MS SQL programming language.

  • Ability to manage testing activities and develop creative strategies for test execution in a resource limited environment

  • Demonstrated experience reporting on testing status utilizing metrics as well as ensuring test coverage of requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate work and facilitate work including proven ability to use resources effectively and efficiently

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of business dynamics and relationship to testing

  • Willingness to be ‘hands-on’ in all aspects of testing (e.g. manually executing test cases, developing automated test scripts, etc.)

  • Excellent communication, organization and documentation skills

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with testing life sciences or healthcare applications (in a regulated environment) and knowledge of HIPAA

  • Strong working knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages:, Python, Java, or C#.

  • Working knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum) and tools (Atlassian Jira)

  • Good working knowledge of web applications, data warehouses, and RESTful API-based testing platforms (Postman, Selenium)
