Become a member of our successful Footwear Development team based in Boston, MA. The Jr. Development position will report directly to the Head of Development, Regional Creation Center Footwear and have constant communication and interaction with the RCC Product Line Management team. This position will work with the Regional Creation Center Footwear Product Development Managers to assist in a multi-support role. The key responsibilities of this position will be to assist and develop PUMA North America’s Key Account product range, Co-Lab/Select footwear and National Regional Footwear. The ability to time manage development tasks within all current established footwear teams and categories are essential.

  • Assist Development Managers to maintain the product range management syste

  • Create, transfer and communicate footwear spec sheets and the Far East Team

  • Review and evaluate cost breakdown forms in order to secure target margins

  • Track samples throughout the various stages of product creation process

  • Manage basic color and material updates for PNA’s SMU projects.

  • Research new material opportunities to remain trend competitive

  • Support Development Managers with department related tasks. Shipping, storage and maintain the organization of seasonal prototypes.

  • Work closely with the Fit and Wear Test Coordinator to assist where possible with sample shipments out to wear testers in the field.

  • Work closely with RCC Product Development Managers for guidance/direction on assigned projects.

  • Domestic and International travel required as necessary

  • Applicable technical degree in manufacturing, mechanical or chemical engineering, product design, biomechanics, etc. preferred.

  • 2+ years’ experience in similar industry; footwear industry preferred.

  • Strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills are essential.

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, Illustrator

  • Knowledge of Far East footwear manufacturing and sourcing, as well as knowledge of athletic footwear materials and construction is beneficial.
