Job Description

The Lead IT Business Analyst develops solutions, creates documentation, and conducts testing for core systems based on expert knowledge of the specific system or module including configuration options, processes, and underlying data structure. Collaborates with solution architects, developers, and other analysts to develop architecture, configuration, and integration design. Executes tasks independently against project schedule.

Performs requirements gathering, system design, prototyping, system integration testing, system installation, and deployment of one or several of the firm’s core business systems or modules. Prepares detailed functional specifications and documentation including data mapping details, application program interfaces, exception handling etc., to support hand-off to technical development team for implementation.

Plan, document, and supports improvements and corrections of core systems, technical solutions and architectures. Work with internal / external business and technical teams to define requirements. Perform gap analyses, configuration design, and data mapping exercises for interfaces, enhancements and improvements. Reviews ongoing project status and risks with BT management.

Develop test cases to support unit-testing of solution ownership. Performs detailed unit-testing and provides feedback to application developers or 3rd party developers to support successful execution. Provide support to business users and/or technology colleagues to develop end-user acceptance testing and documentation.

Analyze and isolate core systems application issues, perform problem resolution and troubleshooting, testing, and end-user support through resolution. Improve systems performance by investigating problems and recommending solutions.

Leads a small team on complex assignments. Provides training to team members and provides feedback to team members and management.


• Technical skills with SQL/PLSQL.

• Knowledge of agile framework preferred.

• Must be able to weigh business needs against security concerns and articulate issues to management.

Travel: Domestic and international travel required.

Environmental Factors: Job requires daily exposure to computer screens.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

Experience: 8 years experience of applicable functional and technical software experience with R12. Highly proficient with GL and Financial Modules (GL/AP/AR/FA/PO) and in-depth knowledge of large multi-org and secondary ledger implementations. Experience in planning, testing for upgrades, preparation of test plans, test scripts, test cases, training the end users in testing, identification of super users for testing support. Must have a strong working knowledge with GL and collaborate with Accounting and Finance staff to support and enhance Oracle EBS R12. Candidate should have direct experience upgrading Oracle 11i to Oracle R12 and an understanding of the functional changes between the two versions.
