Principal Duties and Essential Functions
Lead a team of engineers responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and support of a comprehensive IT infrastructure environment. This includes responsibility for Windows server hardware and software, storage and virtualization platforms, backup, disaster recovery, patch management, change management, primary and secondary datacenters, and SaaS platforms. Must provide an atmosphere of continuous improvement that will support the evolving technology needs of the organization.
Will serve as the subject matter expert for all infrastructure-related projects, incidents, upgrades, and installations. Will be an escalation point for lower-tiered support personnel, including help desk and other system engineers. Work closely with the security group to ensure a safe computing environment by implementing systems, services, policies, and procedures that protect data from internal and external threats and by following industry-standard practices and frameworks. Will routinely monitor and assess performance of infrastructure components and recommend improvements as necessary. Create and maintain documentation for inventory, configurations, processes, and policies.
Responsible for the delegation, prioritization, assignment, and monitoring of tasks and resources within the systems engineering team. Provide mentoring and coaching to team members. Present exceptional customer service while Interfacing with users at all levels of the organization. Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Participate in an off-hours on-call rotation.
Provide leadership by projecting a positive attitude, demonstrating a sense of responsibility, and by promoting accountability within the team. Ability to manage and complete multiple, high-priority, initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Has successfully completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or can demonstrate equivalent work experience.
Diverse, detailed, knowledge of infrastructure concepts & technologies.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Team Lead role
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft technologies; Server OS, Desktop OS, Active Directory, Office365, Group Policy, Exchange
Advanced experience with VMware technologies; vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, Storage vMotion, SRM.
Advanced experience with storage technologies; EMC VNX, RecoverPoint
Advanced experience with Citrix technologies; XenApp, Netscaler, VDI
Advanced experience with backup and recovery technologies; EMC, Veeam, LiveVault
Experience with multiple server and desktop hardware vendors; HP, Dell
Experience with management and monitoring tools; ManageEngine, Solarwinds,
Experience with endpoint protection vendors; McAfee, Symantec
Experience with RedHat Linux and Mac OS a plus.
Experience with healthcare organizations is a plus.
Ability to collaborate with IT, executives, and business stakeholders to achieve objectives.
Must be able to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
