In this position you will:
- Serve as a Physical Security Specialist with a specialty in electronic security systems whose primary responsibility is to implement a security program as it applies to the client agencies within the buildings assigned.
- Advises on specific integrated electronic security systems for federally owned or leased buildings with physical security requirements such as multi-story buildings with a substantial amount of public contact or agencies that are responsible for safekeeping of highly-sensitive government records.
- Develops and promotes positive working relationships and maintain continuous liaison with customer agencies and their management officials as well as similar relationships within NPPD.
- Implements comprehensive detailed plans, proposals, and specifications for the enhancement or upgrade of security systems for the use in agency consultations and training, security system installations, etc.
- 25% or Greater

Have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) This experience must include activities such as 1) performing system operational checks and adjustments to ensure compliance with established standards and oversight of requested repairs by others; 2)evaluating cyber threats to electronic technical countermeasures and determine mitigation approach; 3) reviewing drawings to prepare specifications of electronic security systems; and 4)performing quality control checks before and after consultation with contractors and others relative to electronic security systems.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
Qualifications Must Be Met The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-in-Grade Current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade band in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by closing date of this announcement.

This position is a Critical sensitive position and the tentative selectee must undergo and successful complete a single scope background investigation for a Secret/ SSBI clearance as a condition of placement/retention in this position.

Overnight travel of 1-5 nights per month may be required.
This position has promotion potential to GS-12.
