Oracle Release Developer 4 in Boston, Massachusetts
Release Developer 4
Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) is funding an ambitious initiative to accelerate
cancer research. The Oracle Cancer Research Cloud (OCRC) will provide cancer researchers
a private cloud and a shared data warehouse in which to conduct their research.
The data warehouse will be prepopulated with large volumes of genomic data and
other cancer related data. In return Oracle data scientists will curate and
anonymize research data and add it to the data warehouse. This will expand the
knowledge base available to other academic researchers, as well as pharmaceutical
researchers, insurance companies and clinicians providing patient care. Our
goal is to use our vast infrastructure to make research more efficient, but
also to provide the means for all cancer clinicians to have access to the
latest research so they can deliver the best available care to their patients.
We hire exceptional people and trust them to do their
jobs with minimal oversight. Our team will be building the cloud infrastructure
and populating the data warehouse from established data sources. Our data
scientists use cutting edge techniques for data ingestion, curation and integration
of all data related to cancer research and treatment. Our cloud team uses agile
DevOps practices to build and manage the Cancer Research Cloud on the Oracle
Bare Metal cloud infrastructure.
The Cloud Architecture, Development and Operations team
is looking for several experienced DevOps engineers with strong operational backgrounds
in Linux operating systems, networking, storage and database administration in
a public cloud setting. We will be using a mix of virtualization and container
technologies to deliver right-size/right-time capacity to our clients. Demonstrated
understanding of DevOps principles - “Infrastructure as Code” and broad
automation skills - are key to these positions. Understanding and applying
security principles is a must. Ability to diagnose problems and accurately
report them is a must. Experience working with/managing CI/CD pipelines in an agile
team (Scrum or Kanban) is a requirement. Generalists with depth in multiple
areas are highly desired. Experience with open source cloud and datacenter
management technologies is desirable. Experience with core Oracle technologies
is a significant plus. Experience working with scientists or end users is a
Team members will be responsible for building and
