The Senior IT Project Manager is a partner to the Finance organization and is responsible for end–to-end management of medium to large sized, moderate to highly complex finance systems projects. The Project Manager plans, executes, and finalizes projects on time, on budget, following appropriate SDLC standards, and delivering specific, measurable results to business partners in Finance.
The departmental roadmap offers multiple challenging projects that will ensure Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts can effectively manage its financial assets and continue to bring its technology onto modern platforms.
Manages project components including financial management, quality management, control management, and business continuity management.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal relationships with business partners, analysts, the IT delivery team and Quality Assurance.
Works with system analysts and business partners to understand business objectives. Provides feedback, insight and recommendations, translating appropriate business needs into technology project solutions.
Ensures that the design and integration of proposed systems, software, and hardware solutions leads to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology.
Analyzes total operating cost and return on investment; participates in and begins to make relevant recommendations to business case development and help justify project’s value proposition
Influences stakeholders to understand how the proposed solution (both technical and non-technical aspects) will achieve targeted business results.
Provides assessment; partners with IT functions (e.g., architecture, vendor management, security, infrastructure, data warehouse) and uses understanding of current state business process, existing system functionality, and future state business requirements to design and implement solutions to meet business needs
Accountable for the overall direction of the design, development and implementation of a solution, ensuring sustainable and measurable continuous improvement is achieved in business processes
Successfully utilizes BCBSMA SDLC and champions this common approach and processes across the business and delivery teams
Experience and Education:
BA or BS degree in Systems, IT, Business Management, or related degree preferred or equivalent experience
Minimum of ten years’ relevant experience.
Minimum five years of IT Project Management experience, with demonstrated use of the project management life cycle, including tools and methodologies.
Finance Systems (Oracle Financials, Hyperion, Reconciliation processes) background a plus.
