Assignment: To support our Infrastructure Services team until the end-of-the- year (12/29/17). This temporary role is primarily tasked with performing preparation, deployment, and troubleshooting/remediation of our Windows 2008/2012 patching, troubleshooting/remediation. Coordinating/communicating with our Application and IS teams throughout the process.

Reports to: AVP/ Infrastructure Services

Work Hours: daily, 9-5pm, and is required to work one Saturday a month. If working on the weekend, one will only be required to work 4 days that workweek (M-F).

Location: Boston Office

Duration: Approximately 5 months, with an approximate start date of 07/31 and end date of 12/29/17.

Position Summary

The Windows Administrator Contractor is a hands-on tactical role primarily responsible for augmenting the Windows Server team’s operational support tasks in theVMWare virtualized Windows 2008/2012 Server infrastructure. This role is based in the Bank’s primary offices located in Boston, MA.

This position is classified as sensitive and is subject to a sensitive position background investigation.

Specific Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Perform all aspects of monthly patch management in the Windows Server infrastructure inclusive of preparing the infrastructure for patching, preparing the patch deployment packages, patch deployment, and remediation of issues collaborating with other internal technology groups when necessary.

  • Availability to deploy patches on a Saturday will be necessary and can be accomplished remotely using remote administration solutions, (Citrix & RDP).

  • Perform day to day administration of the Windows 2008 & 2012 and layered software application administration, maintenance and support as needed to support the Bank’s infrastructure as directed.

  • Responsible for and carrying out routine maintenance activities for the Windows infrastructure, physical as well as virtualized servers (within a VMware environment).

  • Perform and adhere to change management requirements.

  • Report weekly the status of ongoing tasks and responsibilities to his/her manager.

  • Provide detailed, professional technical documentation if necessary


B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.


  • 5-7 years of Windows Server 2008/2012 operating system administration, configuration, troubleshooting and support.

  • 2-4 years of Windows patching exposure, preferably using a patch deployment tool such as Ivanti, (formerly Lumension and HEAT), or a similar solution.

  • 2-4 years of VMware administration/familiarity in a Windows Server environment.

  • Familiarity of remote support technologies such as Citrix and RDP.
