Philips Wireless Design Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts

Philips Healthcare, Patient Care & Monitoring Systems (PCMS) is looking for a Radio Frequency Specialist. The position is regional based with primary coverage in the States of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey . The position requires the ability to support national coverage within the United States on a project basis to support the broader design team engagements. PCMS business serves the healthcare community through effective and efficient management of capital medical equipment/solution implementation in various areas within the healthcare continuum.

The candidate will support the design of all wireless products & solutions offered within Philips PCMS portfolio.

Your Responsibilities:

-Create or review & approve wireless design from pre-sales staff

-Create or review & approve wireless design for wireless remediation

-Design wireless network system per Philips product specifications

-Conduct access point placement survey for wireless coverage design & provide documentation

-Conduct coverage area assessment & provide documentation

-Troubleshooting of wireless network systems

Your Profile:

-AS Electrical/Electronic Engineering or BS Electrical/Electronic Engineering are a plus

  • 8 years of previous work experience in related role

-Experience with Telemetry products (minimum 5 years or equivalent)

-Knowledge of 1.4, 2.4, 5.6 GHz bands & 802.11 wireless networks

-Experience in healthcare environment desired

-Knowledge of Patient Monitoring systems as reflected in completion of formal vendor training desired

-RF background and experience preferred

-IT network knowledge and experience, [CCNA, CCNA-Wireless, CWNA- Certified Wireless Network Administrator] (strongly preferred)

-Knowledge of Wireless Design Tool, Auto CAD, Adobe Acrobat pro, MS Excel, Word, and Visio

-Demonstrate proper stewardship of Philips assets including measurement tools and instruments

-Ability to work toward defined objectives with minimal supervision

-Excellent working relationships with regional field personnel and customers is required

-Electronic Design Engineering

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

-Ability to travel required (50%)

-Ability to lift and transport instruments cases that weigh between 45 to 60 pounds.

-Location within stated geography with easy access to major airport
