Abacus Technology B-2 Communications; Senior Systems Hardware Engineer (A073) in Burlington, Massachusetts

Abacus Technology is currently at the ground floor implementation of CVRi2. It is the upgraded communications system that will allow the B-2 to receive signals bounced off of lower levels of the atmosphere, bypassing the satellite relay. This will ensure the B-2 remains a viable nuclear platform. The CVRi2 provides a broader set of longer-term capabilities; upgrades across the entire airborne nuclear command, control, and communication fleet for platforms such as the B-52 Stratofortress and the E-4B Advanced Airborne Command Post.

Abacus Technology is seeking a Senior Systems Hardware Engineer to support this program. This is a full-time position.

Work closely in cross functional teams that include review of digital circuit designs, FPGA designs, SW designs, and application engineering techniques. Plan reviews of development including work products such as system architectures, detailed hardware implementation specifications, critical performance and margin analysis and work breakdown and schedules for the development. Review electronics solutions to meet technical specifications, cost budget, packaging and other design constraints using combination of simulation, analysis, prototyping and testing. Review design documentation such as block diagrams and design specifications. Support new technology development initiatives. Perform system and component level design analysis generally, using engineering tools. Conduct component selections, review high level and low level simulations and prototyping to establish technical feasibility of design components.
