L3 Advanced Programs is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in our Burlington, MA facility for diverse duties related to radar system development. The individual will have a strong background in airborne radar fundamentals, including target detection, tracking and signal processing, steered arrays, as well as system level testing. Knowledge and experience with communications systems is desirable. L3 Advanced Programs offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a highly diverse team of engineers with decades of experience in turnkey embedded signal processing system designs

The successful candidate will design, develop and analyze complicated and difficult software programs in a real-time embedded system environment. Perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysis. Responsible for development of system software infrastructure for use across a wide variety of signal processing applications. Manages development resources for real-time embedded and Linux development platforms. Collaborate with firmware and hardware design engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems and on resolving incompatibilities. Provides inputs for documentation of new or existing projects.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum of ten years’ experience developing software in a real-time embedded system environment

  • Working knowledge of Wind River’s VxWorks operating system

  • Experience with Ethernet and IP protocols.

  • General knowledge of data communication concepts.

  • Experience with and sound understanding of complex software architectures

  • Ability to work with others to define requirements for operating system augmentation, configuration database management, and user interface software for use on multiple end user platforms.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to estimate development schedules based on requirements analysis.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required

Required Skills:

  • Real-time embedded system software development

  • Radar signal processing algorithm software development

  • Target detection, tracking and signal processing software for embedded applications

  • Software development for steered array systems

  • Expertise in C

Required Education: BS (MS preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field

Desired Skills:

  • Real-time Linux embedded system development

  • Demonstrated experience with embedded Linux kernel driver development.

  • Knowledge of Embedded C, C , Python and MATLAB

  • Network theory and practice; familiarity with high performance computing platforms

  • Active Secret clearance is desirable
