Radar Hardware Engineer
L3 Advanced Programs is seeking an RF Radar Hardware Engineer in our Burlington, MA facility for diverse duties related to radar system development. The individual will have a strong background in airborne radar fundamentals, including antenna, RF processing subsystems, and Radar signal processing applications as well as Radar and RF system level testing. L3 Advanced Programs offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a highly diverse team of engineers with decades of experience in turnkey RF based embedded signal processing system designs.
Responsibilities will include:
Team contributor for RF system design, component and system test and characterization
Knowledge of RF simulation, analysis, and RF hardware implementation and signal processing
Prepares documentation for system designs and test
Leads subsystem test plan development and test execution
Performs engineering functions such as trade studies, RF design concepts, component selection and review, performing systems level integration and test for highly complex Radar Signal Processing systems
Verifies and validates aspects of system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and requirements
Work across company with recognized subject matter experts to characterize Airborne Radar system within the modeling environment.
Generate and deliver technical reports, briefings and presentations.
Support commercial contracts, government contracts, and Internal Research & Development (IRAD) projects.
Minimum of nine years of experience in RF system design, component and system test and characterization
Highly developed interpersonal skills with strong written and oral presentation skills for interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, internal and external customers, suppliers and other performers
Ability to work independently in an engineering development environment.
Excellent problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability, along with follow-up and monitoring skills
Understanding of airborne Radar fundamentals, capabilities and processing
Strong computer skills for modeling, simulation, analysis, and testing as well as preparing appropriate reports and technical documents: MATLAB, Simulink, Python, ADS, Microwave Office, HFSS, LabVIEW, , MS Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint/Project/Visio, etc.
Ability to effectively document and communicate designs, results, reports and presentations
Active Secret security clearance is required
Required Education:BS (MS preferred) Degree in Electrical Engineering, Science, and/or Math
RF path modeling, analysis & interactions, system link budget analysis, model-based engineering.
Experience leading small technical teams.
Active Top Secret security clearance is preferred
