L3 Advanced Programs is seeking an experienced IT Senior Network Engineer for our Burlington, MA facility. This position will be responsible for sharing duties for the day-to-day maintenance of the local area network and wide area network, as well as all Linux and Windows systems, e-mail, firewall administration end-user support and desktop support. Successful candidate will work closely with the current IT Tech in this hands-on position, responsible for executing administrative activities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Desktop support

  • Installs, configures, and maintains the organization’s LAN/WAN infrastructure and workstations. Ensure that LAN/WAN usage policies and procedures are followed

  • Manages performance of multiple hardware and software platform interfaces at the most complex level

  • Manages Exchange and Good Link Server systems

  • Supports classified computer systems and networks

  • Supports disaster recovery functions for information systems

  • Supports Enterprise VMware infrastructure, data storage and backup system (Tape, SAN, NAS, etc.), maintains the remote access infrastructure (SSLVPN, Ip Sec), security of the network environment

  • Assesses network performance. Sets up and observes network systems. Recommends upgrades or improvements. Supports development of technical standards and application uses

  • Analyzes products and recommends use of new products and services to senior management

  • Maintains all software and licensing to ensure compliance/legality of use

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required

Qualifications

Qualifications / Requirements

  • 10-14 years experience with Bachelor’s Degree

  • Competencies / Desired Characteristics

  • Extensive knowledge of Windows 7, 10 - Windows 2008/2012 Server

  • Extensive knowledge of Linux systems

  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, Subnets, and VLANS

  • Strong knowledge of IT policy/processes/ standards, IT organizational structure

  • Excellent customer relationship skills

  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure

  • Dependable and able to work extended hours when needed to meet deadlines

  • Self-motivated individual who can function independently

  • PMP or similar project management certification desired

  • Knowledge of ITIL, Lean Six Sigma/Six Sigma desired

  • Existing TS/SCI (SSBI) security clearance or the ability to satisfy requirements for a TS/SCI SSBI security clearance.

Position can be filled at either level 5 or 6.
