Job Description

CUSTOM CONTENT EDITOR, MIT Sloan Management Review (MIT SMR)-Custom Studios, to create, develop, and execute delivery of B2B custom content solutions for distribution by sponsors and advertisers. Primary responsibilities include working independently with MIT SMR’s third party partner(s) to produce quality content consistent with MIT SMR’s high standards. Key elements of this role involve client relationship management, troubleshooting, and content budget oversight. Principle duties vary within the breadth of associated tasks and include content development, quality assurance, project management, client service, custom content acquisition, and strategic analytic analysis. Will report to the director of business development. MIT SMR’s matrixed structure requires significant collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, sales and marketing teams, web producers, content designers, outside vendors and contractors.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: B.A./B.S. degree in liberal arts and sciences; at least five years’ experience in content development; strong editorial skills; project management expertise; superlative organizational skills; ability to grasp, distill, evaluate, and communicate complex concepts; and excellent leadership, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Working understanding of digital trends and metrics in management publishing highly desirable; as are journalism experience, experience with data-driven initiatives, and a sense of urgency. Mastery of all Microsoft Office programs; familiarity with web-based collaboration, project management, and communication tools (Slack, Trello, Jira, Asana); facility with custom publishing, market research, survey development, marketing communications, and/or advertising; and familiarity with AP Style, WordPress, Qualtrics, and HTML are all desirable.
