Here, everyone matters and you will be a vital contributor to our inspiring, bold mission. As a Head R&D External Collaboration & Cross-Functional Capabilities working on the Global IT R&D team, you will be empowered to create a new IT function to serve the growing Takeda strategic direction of external innovation and partnerships, and a typical day will include:

  • Leading a team of IT professionals responsible for development and execution of technology strategic roadmaps (inclusive of processes and technology capabilities) to accelerate integrations / partnership implementations for:

o R&D’s Center for External Innovation

o Takeda’s Global Business Development

o Research, Development, and Strategic Business Unit (SBU) sub-functions responsible for external partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions.

o Centralized & (Therapeutic Area Unit) TAU-owned Portfolio/Project Management (*direct business partnering & delivery)

*EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: *

  • Masters Degree is required; MBA is desired

  • Minimum of five years management experience

  • Experienced technology expert, relationship builder, change leader and problem-solver; demonstrated learner of current and emerging technologies

  • Strong communications and influencing skills; ability to distill complex topics into actionable strategies

  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships, including developing and implementing robust and innovative technology strategies and roadmaps; partnering with technology vendors and experts, and networking with industry peers

  • Experience leading portfolio/project management teams (IT or otherwise), or other IT teams for business cross-functional units, and delivering business enabling technology through formal projects and programs

  • Experience leading or providing external collaboration technology services

  • Experience leveraging new technologies, or novel uses of existing technologies desired

  • Proven people leader with a healthy mix of relevant hard and soft skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage through others

  • Domain knowledge of pharmaceutical R&D * *

  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: *

  • 10% primarily to other Takeda global R&D locations and industry meetings/conferences
