The Speech, Language and Multimedia Group at BBN is a world-class group of researchers whose work ranges from seminal research and development to advanced fielded solutions. Our research activities drive the development of industry-leading solutions and their deployment into demanding user environments. At BBN, Scientists work with an experienced team to innovate, design and implement new methods in a variety of technologies, including speech recognition, speaker identification, language identification, machine translation, information extraction, question-answering, machine learning, NLP, document image processing, and video analysis. Responsibilities include algorithm development, implementation, testing, analyzing, and documenting the performance of new algorithms, and integrating the resulting advances into existing systems and components. Minimum Education and Experience:: • PhD Degree; or MS degree with 4 years; or BS and 6 years of direct experience in Computer Science (CS) or Electrical Engineering. • Experience in Machine Translation and Natural Language Processing Research and Development. • Fluent in one or more programming language. • Comfortable supporting research codebases written in Python or C++ Desired Qualifications: • Background in probability, statistics, linguistics, or machine learning • Experience in speech recognition or machine learning toolkits such as Kaldi • Experience working in large-scale software development projects • Fluent in Python and/or C++ 96330
