The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems involving sensors, actuators and embedded controls across a range of projects. The candidate will be tasked with evaluating existing electrical systems for maturity, redundancy/reliability, and suitability for commercialization/production and rapidly prototyping systems using COTS (common off the shelf) components.
The candidate must be capable of working well in multi-disciplinary teams consisting of mechanical, electrical, software and systems engineers, as well as “owning” parts of a project and delivering as an individual contributor. As a senior member of the engineering team, the candidate must also be comfortable leading a multi-disciplinary team to realize a design.
In addition, the Senior Electrical Engineer will be expected to work with customers (internal and external to Shell) and end users to identify problems and propose valid technical solutions. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring a healthy, safe, secure and environmentally conscious work environment is maintained at all times and by all staff, in compliance with corporate policies and federal and state regulations.
• Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering (e.g. BSEE, BSEECS) (advanced degree preferred but not required)
• At least 7 years of experience in designing electronics
• Experience with analog and digital design domains is essential
• Experience designing a system architecture to meet system requirements
• Strong schematic skills (DxDesigner, Orcad , etc.)
• Strong hardware/firmware interaction knowledge (timing, voltage levels, etc)
• Strong embedded “C” skills (i.e. microcontrollers and other embedded devices)
• Experience as a technical lead for a project (i.e. leading other engineers on the project) a huge plus.
• Experience in an entrepreneurial, start-up technology company environment
• Experience with stakeholder management and customer interface is required
