TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Economics, to support Professor Heidi Williams. The position entails close collaboration and providing assistance with all stages of various empirical research projects analyzing the causes and consequences of technological change. This position is ideal for candidates who would like to develop their empirical research skills in preparation for applying to Ph.D. programs in economics or related fields.
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in math, economics, statistics, or computer science; two years of experience, which may be gained as an undergraduate through an internship or other work; proven ability to anticipate, plan, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines; and demonstrated ability to efficiently organize and manage a high volume of work and self-manage a time-sensitive workflow while maintaining high quality output and accuracy with details. Seeking an individual who has a long-term interest in pursuing research related to economics, health policy, and/or innovation policy, but a background in these areas is not strictly necessary. Preference will be given to detail-oriented applicants with programming experience, particularly related to working with large datasets in software such as Stata and SAS.
