Health Management Systems, Inc. Technical Product Owner in Danvers, Massachusetts

The Technical Product Owner helps to deliver the next generation of application design tooling. Responsible for defining and executing the product roadmap alongside the Product Owner. This includes defining requirements, writing user stories, and prioritizing initiatives.

The ideal candidate is someone with strong technical skills and knowledge along with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts combined with enough business acumen to prioritize initiatives and work with others on business and technical tradeoffs.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with engineers, product owners, and the engagement design team to groom and prioritize the backlog

  • Work with stakeholders to communicate project status

  • Define, track, and improve key metrics for team deliverables

  • Deliver product and technical debt resolutions in a transparent manner

  • Bridge the gap between technical needs and the requirements of the users

  • Be available for all scrum/agile ceremonies

  • Become familiar with the organizational development practices, platform requirements, and project management framework

  • Manage product dashboard and communications to internal teams

  • Understand Agile estimation approaches and allow the team to manage itself

  • Push the product manager and pull the team to maintain continuous velocity stream, ensure quality, eliminate escaped defects, and motivate team

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong command of the fundamentals of computer science, data structures and programming

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to keep the team updated of progress in each phase

  • Strong results-orientation combined with excellent judgement and problem-solving skills

  • Strong understanding the SDLC

  • Basic understanding of AWS/Cloud computing

Work Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange information

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data

  • Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 10 lbs.)

  • Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals

  • May be required to work extended hours for special business needs

  • May be required to travel at least 10% of time based on business needs

  • Product Owner

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Minimum Related Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in an Agile software development framework, preferably working in a fast-paced environment
