NCI: As the Systems Engineer ( Systems Engineer II ), you will be responsible for planning and engineering of an organization's system infrastructure. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.
Highlights of Responsibilities:
Monitor the performance of systems and make recommendations for improvement
Plan, implement and design of hardware and software
Utilize standard AFNET concepts, practices and procedures.
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Provide recommendation on product or vendor support strategies that provide more effective and more affordable support for the AF system/networks
Assist the PMO in developing support strategies by performing analyses of, and making recommendations on, AF system/network support issues
Track component End of Support (EOSu), End of Sale (EOS), and End of Life (EOL) for TO controlled SW and HE elements of the AF systems/networks and document findings in an Obsolescence Report
Prepare and present system/network efficiency and performance reports.
Gather metrics and analytics on portions of the AF system/networks architecture and topology to identify network stability, reliability, security, and inefficiency issues for both TO controlled and non-TO controlled system/networks
Active DoD Secret clearance
4 years minimum network and/or systems engineering experience on AFNet-related systems
Security + required within 90 days of initial hire
Preferred Education and Experience:
Familiarity with reporting and maintenance software such as SAP BusinessObjects and EITSM (respectively)
Database and server management software experience
BS of information technology or related discipline, especially to include: Analytics, business admin, computer science/programmingfacebook | Twitter | LinkedIn
