NCI: As the Technical Writer ( Technical Writer II ), you will be responsible for editing and proofreading of technical manuals to support the objective of Air Force organic system operation and field- level maintenance for the life cycle of the system. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting NCI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

Highlights of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for writing, revising, and editing Air Force Technical Orders (TOs).

  • Work with system integrators and engineers to verify accuracy of TOs and prepare TOs for publication following Air Force and DoD requirements.

  • Assist in editing of Air Force Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs).

  • Review system integrator TOs for compliance with military standards.

  • Work with AFLMC/HNI engineers to create TOs.

  • Update TOs based on verification reviews.

  • Create final PDF files of TOs for publication.

  • Edit and format TCTOs according to style guide and templates.

Requirements:

  • Successful candidates should have a Bachelors degree and 2+ years relevant experience (or commensurate combination of education, training and experience).

  • Proficiency in Word 2010.

  • General networking, VMware and IT knowledge.

  • Active Secret security clearance.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge of SGML, XML and Arbortext is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint is a plus.

  • CompTIA Security+ certification is a plus.

  • Previous experience supporting DoD/government customers.
