The Security Services Department's overall mission is to ensure a safe and secure environment and protect MIT Lincoln Laboratory at all facilities in which staff members perform their mission of research and development. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage; and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.
Sr. Security Coordinator V - Visitor Services Center
Will be a member of a fast paced, highly visible and complex visitor reception and access control environment. Will provide customer service to a range of Laboratory personnel, consultants, vendors, sub-contractors, visiting sponsors and military personnel and affiliates. Must have excellent inter- personal skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities include processing unclassified, classified, and non-U.S. citizen visits and issuing access badges. Will be responsible to create, maintain, and distribute monthly statistical reports providing detailed analysis of visitor frequency, security classification and metric trends. Must ensure compliance with the Laboratory's administrative and security policies and relevant sections of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). Additional duties include providing information and assistance to customer groups concerning visitor access policies. Experience in Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel is required and experience with the Security Information Management System (SIMS) and Joint Personnel Security Adjudication System (JPAS) is desired. Will compose/type, edit and proofread correspondence and other documents for management personnel as necessary. Must possess strong administrative skills; self-confidence, mature judgment, cooperative and responsible attitude, and a conscientious and organized approach to work in a changing environment along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Candidate must be well-organized and able to work independently while performing multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be detail oriented and exercise discretion in handling Personally Identifiable information (PII) and other sensitive information.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Security Management, Industrial Security or related field and/or a minimum of 2 years in depth knowledge and demonstrated competence in a DoD Industrial Security program or related environment is required.
Enhanced knowledge of computer systems and associated business software such as MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated capability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple concurrent tasks.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work successfully in team environments to meet schedule deadlines is essential.
Must be able to organize and maintain hardcopy and electronic files in an up-to-date order.
The selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must meet all eligibility requirements for access to classified information including compartmented programs. Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance is required.
