Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Hologic is looking for a Systems Administrator with a focus on Backups. Must be motivated, team oriented professional who can work independently to resolve issues as well as maintain customer relationships.

  • Maintain Active Directory

  • Participate in On-Call rotation

  • Troubleshoot/resolve hardware and software issues with Windows systems as needed

  • Monitor Windows server performance and availability

  • Promote and maintain server patch management practices

  • Provide metrics for capacity management purposes

  • Monitor server load and implement load balancing when needed

  • Identify, upgrade and replace server hardware where appropriate

  • Conduct periodic HA/DR planning exercises as required

  • Manage and participate in projects as assigned and work with team members across the company to deliver project goals.

  • Assist security team with coordinating software deployments and vulnerability remediation

  • Resolve assigned trouble tickets and maintain accurate status in Hologic’s ticketing systems

  • Ensure that all security requirements are met or exceeded

  • Document technical designs and procedures

  • Communicate information through effective written and oral communication and presentations

  • Windows Server experience

  • VMware virtualization experience

  • Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to oversee the development and execution of detailed project plans

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent

Experience

  • Hands-on Microsoft Exchange Experience

  • Hands-on Microsoft OCS/Lync/Skype for Business Experience

  • Hands-on Microsoft System Center Operations Manager Experience

  • Hands-on Windows system administration experience in a distributed environment

  • Experience designing and implementing projects including Active Directory, Microsoft server clustering using Windows 2008/2012 Server, Windows DFS, Remote Desktop Services

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with VMware ESX 3/4/5/6

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Windows servers and related technologies

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications and Services (including, WSUS, IIS, FTP, DNS, DFS, TCP/IP, DHCP, SNMP)

  • Experience with vulnerability management and endpoint security products

  • Candidate must be self-directed and capable of working on several projects and efforts simultaneously
