POSITION DESCRIPTION: You will define, implement, and oversee formalized IT program governance activities to ensure the successful implementation and integration of new critical/core State Street systems for a highly visible, complex, multi-year, global project. As a senior application development manager and program coordinator, you will be responsible for coordination, communication, and oversight of implementation and systems integration activities across a large number of application development teams (both Agile and Waterfall) that are impacted by the project.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the definition, implementation, and oversight of program governance and change control process/structure, and tools

  • Ensure individual team roadmaps and backlogs/priorities are established and align with high-level business requirements documents (BRD’s)

  • Coordinate with large number of application development and SQA managers to mobilize resources and drive the timely startup and closure of all program delivery teams to align with overall project schedule

  • Ensure successful identification, design, and delivery of required interfaces and associated application changes to enable seamless systems integration with the new core platforms

  • Ongoing project coordination with key individuals/teams (both internal and external to the program), including project, development, SQA, architecture and infrastructure managers as well as vendor professional services

  • Report and analyze overall and detailed program status, escalate impending delays, unexpected scope changes, and serious impediments, and drive their resolution

  • Assist in creation and distribution of summary-level reporting of key program status and metrics to executive management (including program financials)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree

  • 10+ years of application development experience; 7+ years of Financial Services experience

  • Experience with project budget/financials, program resourcing, strategic planning, and vendor management

  • Experience managing large-scale cross-functional project teams spanning multiple applications; In depth understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies (Agile Delivery Manager experience a plus)

  • Strong communication (verbal/written), project management, negotiation/influence and relationship management skills a must
