Summary:

A Senior Application Analyst in this role is part of a team that builds and supports a highly integrated EMR, using a standardized approach across a nationally recognized health care system.

This position supports the Health Information System at Baystate Health with responsibilities that include installation, testing, deployment and continued maintenance and support. The analyst in this role is responsible for identifying issues and is independent in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues within the electronic record.

What You Will Do:

  • This application analyst would be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization to the EMR, in all areas of clinical documentation including PowerNotes, Powerforms, IVIEW documentation, and M-Pages.

  • The analyst in this role will work closely with the clinical and medical informatics team to understand desired outcomes, and work independently to develop functional and technical specifications, workflow diagrams, testing scripts and supporting documentation.

  • The analyst in this role must work collaboratively with other analysts, engineers, architects, team leads, managers and business partners to collaborate on system design, build and testing.

  • The incumbent in this role must work collaboratively with others, and be able to manage multiple high priority initiatives in a fast paced environment.

  • The incumbent in this position will perform project management and leadership tasks, including detailed project plan tasks, timelines and milestone reporting, in collaboration and alignment with the BH Project Management Office. They will work closely with business partners to review the status of work and projects in process, prioritize new efforts and assist in identifying new opportunities to improve operations and clinical workflows.

  • These activities require skills in independent decision making, application design and configuration, complex problem solving, leadership, system analysis, customer service, team work, organization, and excellent written and verbal communication.

What You Will Need:

Minimally Required Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma/GED required

  • Experience working in a clinical setting

  • 5+ years’ experience in using or supporting Cerner application suites

  • Strong Analytical Skills

Required Skills / Compentencies:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all of the suites of Cerner Documentation build tools.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing and building complex PowerNotes, IVIEW bands, M-Pages, iBUS and outcomes based Powerplans.

  • Demonstrated independence and proficiency in troubleshooting all areas of the electronic medical record, including integration points.

  • Knowledge and proficiency in physician and nursing workflows, and documentation processes.

  • Eagerness to learn as well as mentor others

  • Ability to perform independent research

  • Demonstrated competency in Excel/Microsoft Word/Outlook and VISIO

Essential Functions Include

  • Documentation of Functional and Technical specifications

  • Documentation of Current and Future State, as well as gap analysis

  • Leading or participating in all testing events

  • Deliverables will include detailed build documentation, development and maintenance of unit, regression, and integrated test plans.
