Advanced Integrated Logistics Support Specialist

  • Assists in project/program tasks related to specific Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements

  • Provides ILS input to project/program plans and proposals

  • Supports other disciplines for program/project resolutions/enhancements

  • Defines, reviews and tests system requirements for enhancements/modifications for supportability

  • Mentors lower level team members in technical and interpersonal skills as required

  • Leads the review, development and modification of procedures and products for one or more ILS functions

  • Trains internal/external customers regarding procedures and processes and software applications

  • Supports internal audits and development and review of corrective action plans

  • Performs duties and responsibilities as the ILS functional area lead on process improvement teams and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)

  • Coordinates workflow to meet program and customer delivery requirements

  • Participates in the development of supplier requirements and Statement of Work

  • Provides ILS functional area inputs (technical and cost) to proposals

  • Independently create documentation for management and program deliverables

  • Internal and External customer/government and subcontractors

  • Within and between project IPTs

  • Upper management levels

  • Contract and Subcontract Management

  • All Engineering disciplines

  • Accomplish Applicable Defense Acquisition University (DAU) courses

  • Reports to an ILS Manager

  • Individual contributor

  • ILS Generalist

  • May be required to travel

  • Develops and administers integrated logistics strategies

  • Provides logistic support to field organizations and/or customers including spare or replacement parts and supplies

  • Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to maximize sales and profit for company and customer

  • Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes

  • Supports Equipment, Facilities, Computer Resources Support, PHS&T, RM&A

  • Designs, develops and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life

  • Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product's lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line

  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments

  • This is the career level in many professional specialties

  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.

  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors

  • Fully proficient knowledge/experience in one or more of the elements of logistics

  • Fully proficient knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements: Supply Support, Maintenance Planning, Manpower and Personnel, Technical Data, Training and Training Equipment

  • Specialize in one or more of the ILS elements

  • Fully proficient knowledge of military/commercial requirements/ specifications applicable to functional area expertise Knowledge, understanding and use of internal/external procedures and policies

  • Conflict management skills

  • Fully proficient knowledge of the acquisition logistics process

  • Ability to coordinate other disciplines for program/project resolutions/enhancements

  • Proficient in various ILS software applications

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal

  • Fully proficient knowledge of WBS, IMP/IMS, EVMS

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Management or Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
