Division Information

The Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) provides a diverse mix of analytical instruments and associated services to a broad range of end user markets including Safety & Security, Environmental, Food Safety, Energy, Mining, Life Science Manufacturing and Recycling, to name a few. Its instruments are deployed in the field and on the line, in challenging environments where customers put a premium on robustness, reliability and ease of use. They allow them to make decisions where they operate and streamline their businesses. CAD is a complex division with a global footprint, broad product portfolio and diverse customer base.

Position Summary:

This Electrical Engineering position in our innovative R&D engineering organization is looking for a multi-tasking, hardworking, innovative, and goal- oriented individual with strong verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will have tremendous passion to build and implement new designs as well as update existing design with very minimal mentorship. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary product development team that will build, test, and document electrical systems that will be coordinated into powerful spectroscopic instrumentation. This position will work with the Electrical Engineering Manager for R&D.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Embedded hardware design using microprocessors, microcontrollers, FPGA, power supplies and mixed signal circuits.

  • Build details electrical schematics, PCB layout, drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs) for PCBAs

  • Author engineering specifications

  • Author and conduct electrical test plans.

  • Collaborate with embedded firmware engineers

  • Support Design for Manufacturing and Testability

  • Engage and hold design reviews

  • Verify and validate complex embedded systems.

  • Resolve any compliance related details in the design

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Shown understanding of sophisticated Embedded systems

  • Experience with digital bus interfaces such as DDR, eMMC, uSDHC, SPI, I2C

  • Strong experience with printed circuit board layout for both rigid and flex PCBs preferred.

  • Proficiency in one electrical CAD tool, OrCAD preferred.

  • Proficiency in Verilog and simulation toolsets preferred.

  • Proficiency in at least one computer programming language.

  • Familiarity with compliance test standards.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to take initiative and excel in a fast-paced environment is needed.

Job Requirements:

  • BSEE degree with 5 years of related experience (7-10 years highly desired)

  • US Citizenship or Permanent resident
