_About the Position:_
US Portfolio Planner is part of a global PMO team and provides planning support to the US Information Systems Infrastructure Portfolio, PPM and BRM organizations. Responsible for maintaining the US portfolio plan. Ensures that project plans are up to date in Microsoft Project Online and provides assurance and guidance to Project Managers on planning process and standards. Supports the project mobilization and pipeline process, tracking projects from inception through to start up. Develops and provides portfolio level reporting against key milestones. Responsible for tracking progress against the plan, reporting and escalating slippage where necessary.
Reports to the Global Infrastructure Portfolio and Planning Lead and provides support by providing documentation to Information Systems.
_Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):_
Updates Portfolio Plan based on weekly Project Manager (PM) reporting.
Follow-up with PM’s on discrepancies, providing advice & guidance where necessary.
Project Mobilization - distributes communication to PM acknowledging the passing of stage gate A, PM assignment and the milestones and dates to meet the planned sanction date.
Follow-up with PM’s on status of milestones to meet sanction approval date.
If a project is delayed or in jeopardy of being delay; send communication to the relevant stakeholders.
Responsible for maintaining project pipeline spreadsheet.
Tracking, monitoring & reporting of all inflight projects in the US Portfolio.
Working with the Strategy team to track & report on project pipeline & mobilization.
Responsible for monitoring and reporting project Dependencies, ensuring they are managed via projects plans.
*Knowledge & Experience Required:*
MS Project 2016 / Project Server / Project Online
Experience of setting planning standard and controls
Strong understanding of MS Project (Server / Online)
Experience Developing and introducing program and project planning standards
Experience of planning in a global / multi-supplier environment
Experience planning global and regional Transition and Transformation activities
Ability to critically assess project plans to support risk assessments and to drive quality and consistency across the portfolio
Data collection and review
Cross-functional business partnerships* *
Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s preferred with a minimum of 3 years in business performance, reporting or data analysis
Formal Project Management Qualifications (Desirable)
MS Project Qualifications / Training
Background in utility service business activities
Advanced computer skills in all Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel & Project
Excellent written / oral communication skills, follow-up, and negotiation skills
