The purpose of the IT Business Analyst role is to to serve as the liaison between key Business Stakeholders as well as IT Development, Project Management and QE teams. The IT Business Analyst will support both new and existing technologies utilized by Bright Horizons internal users, with particular focus on SharePoint 2016. Through a variety of means, the Business Analyst will analyze current and future state business processes, document requirements, define and design solutions and participate in the full Solution Delivery Life Cycle. The Business Analyst will lead projects independently as well as troubleshoot system issues and assist end-users with application support.

What you will be doing:

  • Work closely with SharePoint Architect, Developers, Content Owners, and end-users to help address content management and site creation/modification needs as well as troubleshoot issues reported by end users.

  • Create and configure SharePoint sites, pages, permissions and web parts.

  • Provide training and support to end-users and Content Owners.

  • Develop and document business requirements through a variety of means such as, but not limited to user interviews, surveys, workflow reviews, research on industry best practices, and user workshops.

  • Define current (As-Is) and Future (To-Be) scenarios (processes, models, use cases, plans and solutions). Build consensus among stakeholders to validate and finalize the requirements in the Business Requirements Document.

  • Work with IT Development team to ensure requirements are properly translated into technical specifications that meet the business needs. Assist IT Development team through design, code, test and deploy to ensure any issues are resolved.

  • Proactively identify ways in which system and process changes can improve efficiency of key users, customer service, accuracy of results, and/or completeness of data.

  • Ensure that all process and documentation are consistent with best practices and Bright Horizons standards for Solution Delivery Life Cycle.

  • Serve as a communication bridge between business leaders and developers to facilitate understanding of initial requirements, questions and changes across these groups.

What we hope you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science.

  • Individual should have a minimum of 1 year of related work experience.

  • Familiarity with corporate Intranets and how to best leverage it for end-users.

  • Experience with SharePoint 2013 or 2016, InfoPath and SharePoint designer workflows highly recommended.

  • Strong communication skills are essential. Individual must be comfortable working with a variety of user groups at all levels within the organization.

  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking to analyze problems, document needs and communicate these needs to a variety of audiences.

  • Proven ability to understand business requirements in a variety of functional areas and the flexibility to adapt to new and changing information.
