POSITIONSUMMARY: Develop, install, and maintain economicquality plans and procedures to assure that the outgoing quality of products isequal to or better than established specifications and is consistent withcustomer satisfaction. Responsibilitiesinclude preparation of process and product quality plans and visual standards;analysis, reporting and improvement of quality performance; and providingassistance through quality analysis and design reviews during the developmentof new products and processes.
Gathers, analyzes and presents data used for discussion and implementation of corrective or preventive actions, and continuous improvement projects.
Recommend new product quality objectives, review new and changed product designs and assist in reviewing process and product specifications to help ensure compatibility with customer requirements and manufacturing capability.
Design and conduct experiments to determine cause and effect relationships and provide data for quality performance evaluations. Develop visual standards. Design, modify and install approved sampling plans and inspection procedures.
Drive defect containment and assure problem resolution in a timely manner for component or material quality issues impacting production lines and external customers.
Determine quality capability of machines and processes and evaluate vendor capabilities and participate in approval of new sources of supply.
Maintain liaison with customers on quality matters including travel to customer facilities. Daily direct access of significant customer web-based information systems, i.e. non-conformance incidents, PPAP, delivery, supplier bulletins, documentation /shipping, miscellaneous.
Prepare process and product quality plans, including choice of control stations, classifications of quality characteristics, establishment of inspection and test criteria, selection of measuring instruments and test methods, inspection instructions, routine for disposition of non-conforming material, and system for recording and reporting essential data.
Participate in the review, disposition and corrective action of non-conforming material to include the facilitation of re-work activities at customer facilities.
Serves as a team member with plant operations and production personnel and troubleshoots operational issues on a daily basis.
Spends significant time on the shop floor under a continuous improvement focus.
Oversees/coordinates and maintains corrective action systems (for internal and external failures) so that the identification, prioritization and correction of problems occur efficiently and effectively.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Apply lessons learned and apply read across of best practices.
In the case of deviations, make sure appropriate corrective actions are taken and documented.
Create and control boundary samples, process control plans, gauge instructions, standard sheets, and operator visual inspection instructions.
Assure all gages being used within the assigned manufacturing cells are following the calibration/certification requirements.

EDUCATION: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management orthe equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in a Quality related field within the Automotive Plastics Industry.
Application of statistical quality techniques and certification of ASQC as CQE.
Solid knowledge and application understanding on all AIAG Core Tools.
Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience with Quality Systems based on ISO/IATF Standards.
Knowledge of GD&T product specifications to recommend and approve gaging concepts and gaging requirements. Ability to read, understand and translate product print requirements into robust process control documentation.
Experienced implementing Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodologies, ISO standards and APQP process.
Strong facilitation skills and the ability to build positive working relationships within a variety of organizational departments.
Strong communication and presentation skills with OEM Customers and Top Management, both written and oral.
Microsoft Office and Minitab (or a comparable) skills.
Deep understanding of all guidelines to manage an internal Quality Laboratory based on ISO requirements.
0Km and Warranty investigation experience of electronic automotive components and resolution of customer part quality issues to include usage of OEM and Tier 1 customer portals.
