Job Description: This Contracts Manager position is responsible for performing a full range of contract management activities in support of the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Program and Research and Development (RAD) programs which include several subcontracts with multiple prime contractors supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The successful candidate will support individually and through coordination with peer contract professional leads on a full range of contract administration/management activities, focused on contract/program execution within the Mission Systems and Sensors (MSS), Missile Defense Programs. The candidate will be responsible for leading a team and developing strong internal and external customer relationship and partnering creative problem solving approaches to address business needs. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for providing guidance to the program and other contracts team members with varied levels of experience. The ideal candidate is a collaborative independent thinker who will assist the program leads in formulating and executing business strategies to reduce risk, enhance customer satisfaction and support the generation of additional or new business opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Participation in front-end assessments of new business pursuits; analysis of requests for proposals (RFPs) Developing creative solutions to contract challenges and expediting closure of open actions Providing business and contracts guidance to program team during proposal and contract execution phases Proposal reviews and coordination; contract negotiation and general contract management responsibilities Serves as subject matter expert for interpreting acquisition regulations and contract requirements Provides sound contract management oversight to assure that business agreements are made in accordance with Company objectives and policies Acts as the formal business interface with external and internal customers on programmatic issues including change management, organizational conflict of interest (OCIs), etc. Interprets and communicate requirements, ensures compliance; documents changes & negotiates equitable adjustments, supports contract dispute resolutions processes Assessment of team functional gaps and strategic planning of work assignments to ensure professional development Required Skills: 8+ years of total professional experience - 6 years of directly related applicable Contracts work experience Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS) and/or equivalent government regulations Experience with being a customer interface and demonstrated success in building strong customer relationships Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance or related area Desired Skills: Experience with prime and U.S Government customers Able to readily adapt in a challenging, fast-paced environment Experience in supporting front-end strategic assessment of business pursuits, in developing negotiation strategy, and leading customer negotiations to achieve company desired results Strong business acumen with the ability to clearly recognize risk elements in business transactions Awareness of ITAR and export licensing requirements; experience with various contract types Strong knowledge of company policies and procedures Experience establishing pre-negotiation objectives and negotiation skills to realize objectives Ability to obtain a security clearance Effective communicator both orally and in writing Strong analytical and interpersonal skills Required Education (including Major): Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance or related area 100216
