Honeywell Sr. Windows Systems Engineer in Acton, Massachusetts

The Enterprise Services Datacenter Network Organization designs, implements and operates a state-of-the-art Information Systems Infrastructure serving around 110,000 employees, in over 900 locations across 65 plus countries. We work with the latest and emerging technologies to deliver scalable, high performing, always available infrastructure services around the world. We deliver services that connect, host, virtualize, store, collaborate, integrate, compute and transact business solutions that utilizes cloud first, automation, analytics, “as a Service”, BIG data and software defined.

The Principle System Analyst will be responsible for operational support of Windows Server Infrastructure, hardening and architecture for >15,000 servers at Honeywell. You will work in Windows & Linux Server Architecture & Administration (Windows 2019/2016/2012 Operating Systems & *NIX) This role includes analysis of contracts related to certain technology and financial & budgetary performance of partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational support on a rotational basis of > 15,000 server

  • Accountable for contract negotiations & financial performance related to remote hands, partner suppliers, and associated technologies.

  • Work with Hyper Converged Infrastructure technology platforms like Nutanix or Dell VXRail

  • Troubleshoot performance issues related to virtualized workloads

  • Facilitate moving of workloads to/from on-prem cloud to off-prem cloud

  • Participate in calls with other members to address and troubleshoot application and or infrastructure related issues

  • Approximately 15% travel


  • A Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years’ experience in managing Windows systems

  • 10+ years of experience in operational support of enterprise server ecosystem

  • 5+ years with ServiceNow or another ITSM platform and/or methodology

  • 3+ years Server automation activities or Infrastructure as code (CHEF, Powershell, etc.)


  • Linux operating system experience

  • Experience with ServiceNow tools integration & automation.

  • Strong knowledge on Windows Server 2019/2016/2012 OS

  • Certification on Windows Server 2016/2012 Administration

  • Windows patching tools like Ivanti & WSUS and Windows security standards & OS Hardening concepts

  • Experience or technical certifications in VMware or Hyperconverged space

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Business-Related discipline

  • Experience as a change agent and promoting positive change in an organization

  • Excellent oral, written and collaborative communication skills, including executive level communications

  • The ability to partner effectively across IT teams, suppliers and business customers on cross-functional projects and process improvements

  • Skilled in partnering with internal customers at all levels to define problems, identify solutions, and facilitate change

  • Effectively demonstrates ability to deliver on complex situations or problems without guidance or supervision

  • Creative and collaborative problem-solving capability

  • Strong knowledge of IT business processes and practices including ITIL methodology

  • Experience with data protection, business continuity and disaster recovery options, configuration and execution
