Kforce IT Project Manager in Amherst, Massachusetts

Kforce has a client that is seeking an IT Project Manager in Amherst, Massachusetts (MA). Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage software development and business process analysis projects involving cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product or service

  • Develop and maintain project charters, detailed work plans, schedules and risk registers appropriate for the scope and complexity of each project

  • Track the cross functional team in the execution of the project

  • Provide positive leadership toward the successful delivery with a focus on cost, schedule, scope, quality and communication

  • Coordinate efforts of all cross functional team members

  • Establish and maintain a highly cooperative environment and foster collaboration across all areas

  • Communicate status for assigned projects through written status reports and other communications as needed to various Stakeholders

  • Perform project risk assessment and implement risk mitigation plans

  • Maintain project artifacts throughout the project

  • Document high level business requirements for projects as needed

  • Bachelor's degree required; A degree in Computer Science / Management Information Systems / Business Administration / Engineering or related discipline is preferred

  • PMP certification is preferred

  • Five or more years of progressively responsible project management experience, including experience with business process analysis and workflow re-engineering

  • Change management training and experience is preferred

  • Understanding of software development life cycle and experience in managing software projects; Experience managing projects in an Agile environment is preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of project management principles, tools, including MS Project, MS Office (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and requirements analysis

  • Proven ability to manage complex large-scale projects under significant constraints

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to quickly assess unclear or complex situations and reduce into clear direction for the team

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills; demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships at all levels of the organization and with technical and non-technical staff; Ability to effectively lead, manage and energize cross-functional teams across multiple sites

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation experience in a variety of settings
