Raytheon Technologies CORE Functional Lead Operations & Security in Andover, Massachusetts

CORE is the Raytheon Technologies (RTX) operating system built upon the legacy of Lean and 6Sigma practices and is fundamental to how the company executes all business objectives. The new CORE operating system unifies business units and functions across the company with a common language and methodology.
This role will lead the implementation of RTX CORE across the Operations & Security function. The selected candidate will serve as leader of functional CORE staff, reporting to the Executive Director of Operations Globalization & Strategy with dotted line reporting to the RMD CORE Lead. You will lead and execute the CORE operating system for Operations & Security, prioritize cross-domain improvement opportunities within the function, assign resources to solve the highest impact business issues, and deliver business results in EAC reduction, margin expansion and sales growth across the entire function.
Additionally, you will ensure the CORE goal alignment process is actively deployed and used for strategy deployment and aligned across all domains requiring the ability to influence all levels, from VP to individual contributing employee, obtaining the necessary resources, and ensuring that projects and recommendations are sufficiently implemented. You will also focus on risk mitigation and opportunity capture using CORE tools and efficiency improvements to enable RMD to accelerate backlog and increase margins.
Work arrangement preference will be near Andover, MA, Tucson, AZ or another RMD Facility offering a flexible hybrid work arrangement but will require the ability to go into the office and / or travel as needed.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Contribute to CORE strategy-to-action deliverables.
Achieve tangible results on financials (EAC Impact) saving millions in profit dollars.
Partner with Operations & Security Leadership Team to enhance profit, maximize cost avoidance savings, and drive cash imperatives.
Drive process maturity in all Operations & Security CORE domains via CORE domain focals.
Actively collaborate across functions to deliver high impact business results in agility and responsiveness to customers.
Provide a functional CORE continuous improvement monthly overview with the Operations & Security LT.
Chair an Operations & Security CORE council for all direct and indirect CORE domain focals.
Increase cost competitiveness in proposals, speed of delivery on execution contracts, and drive a zero defect mindset for quality.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities that drive business results, positive financial performance, and yield opportunity to increase margin expansion.
Develop talent and capability within Operations & Security. Mentor, coach, and nominate employees in accordance with CORE capability development increasing their upward mobility.
Lead all CORE competencies and certifications: Principal, Expert, Professional, and Apprentice across Operations & Security.
Qualifications You Must Have:
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience
Experience leading and problem solving in a manufacturing environment
Presentation experience delivering information to senior executive leadership
Prior successful experience improving entire systems and processes
Experience of cost reduction, EAC improvement, and/or synergy creation
Applied experience of Lean, 6Sigma, Agile or other continuous improvement practices
Experience leading a cross regional team and work with team members of varying backgrounds
This position requires ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
CORE Expert, Black Belt, PMP/PMX or other equivalent certification
Advanced degree or Program Management experience
Proven ability to communicate with senior executive leadership on matters of strategic importance to the organization
Highly honed communication skills with a track record of influencing change
Advanced business knowledge with demonstrated leadership capability with results
Experience in defense industry and knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Proficiency in Excel/Access/Power BI
Experience leading, training and coaching Lean and 6Sigma methods & tools
Experience in driving Hoshin Kanri or other equivalent Policy deployment processes
Active, current DoD Secret Clearance
