Mercury Systems International Trade Compliance Director in Andover, Massachusetts

The Director of Trade Compliance will work closely with business units to identify strategies to effectively and efficiently expand Mercury Systems' business in the international market place.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all export compliance matters at Mercury. The Director of Trade Compliance will be responsible for setting staffing levels to ensure that global trade can support Mercury's expansion internationally. This position will help enable a collaboration environment within Mercury Systems, US and its foreign subsidiaries. The Director of Trade Compliance will manage the International licensing and compliance function within the US and abroad, establish export compliance processes to comply with foreign and domestic laws, establish programs to classify products and develop a compliance training program for all current 15 locations worldwide. Establish policy to enable compliance with laws while maintaining a customer focus. The successful candidate will perform due diligence work for acquisitions for both US and international companies and help to merge completed acquisitions into Mercury's trade compliance program and overall culture.


  • Establish relationships with regulatory agencies.

  • Subject matter expert on the ITAR and EAR

  • Monitor regulatory changes and apply them to Mercury's international trade strategies.

  • Provide metrics on the export function and present them to the executive leadership team.

  • Must be able to work collaboratively within cross functional, matrixed teams across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Provides leadership to a team of export professionals including remote employees.

  • Be able to identify and evaluate risk in export maters and advise the business units

  • Have a solid understanding of trade regulations within the European countries and the EU.

Minimum/Basic Job Qualifications (skills, work experience, education/credentials):

  • Position requires a Bachelor of Science in Business, International or Export related Discipline.

  • 10 years related experience with an international company.

  • Past experience with collaborative teaming over international boundaries.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to use OCR Ease Additional Preferred Qualifications:, Jira and Confluence. Ability to speak French. Mercury Attributes: Sense of Urgency, Teamwork and Commitment
