Schneider Electric has a challenging opportunity for a passionate individual to assume the role of IoT Sales Application Engineer for EcoStruxure Building Management. The Buildings Business of Schneider Electric provides intelligent building management solutions to help customers create a productive and comfortable environment for its occupants, reduce energy consumption, and run building operations more efficiently. The Application Engineer will play a key role in developing, supporting and delivering integrated, intelligent cross domain client facing architectures and solutions. In this role you will lead the building team’s IoT solution design and engineering function to support launch of new offers acting as the domain expert and support sales and design teams globally. The right candidate will have a proven track record of experience as an advanced solution design consultant and engineer spanning various IT and OT technologies in building domain or equivalent. Collaboration and partnering within Schneider’s global organization is critical for success.Must possess the ability to build solutions by understanding the customer context, including all stakeholders, process and needs, as well as technical complexity induced by the integration of numerous interconnected components and sub-systems
Be the domain expert on various building technologies: IoT products – sensors, devices; wireless comm-unication; cloud services; mobile applications and building management systems that enable a smart building
Build a strong understanding of use-cases and applications for smart office building targeting various personas of Real Estate, Facility, Workplace managers and employees; as well as the business drivers
Assist country sales team to analyze customer needs, use-cases, process constraints, time-lines, perform gap analysis and support them to qualify the project, respond to RFIs/RFPs and develop proposals
Assist country sales team to prepare and negotiate with the customer the operational and functional description of the solution, including quantified performance levels and related budgets
Assist project delivery teams in detailed design of the solution, wireless network, system architecture, in line with customer expectations and SE solution, while re-using to save time, optimize costs and reduce risks
Develop technical assets: specification document for consultants, use-case directory, ROI template sheets, project checklists, Tested Validated Documented Architectures to reduce time and execution risks
Liaison with product management, cloud engineering teams on feature evolution to match market needs
Benchmark competitive solutions to create battle cards for the sales team to support product differentiation Evaluate emerging technologies and solutions that complement offers as candidates for partnership opportunities
Become central body-of-knowledge on solution design, write white-papers, develop training, conduct webinars
Desired skills and competencies
5+ years of experience in solution and system design for IoT systems, wireless communication, enterprise IT networking, cloud based services or end-user applications preferably in buildings domain
Strong skills in: business requirements gathering/analysis, sketch and document system architectures, writing proposals, conduct risk assessments, project planning, express complex concepts in plain language
Prior experience with: workplace systems such as IWMS, reservation, ticketing; supporting API & mobile-App SDK integrations; enabling technologies for smart office experience design a distinct advantage
Ability to collaborate w/ global team across different time-zones, train them and build a knowledge network
Essential skills: digital native, analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities; strong interpersonal and consultative skills; highly organized, self-starter, excellent written communications and presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree (computer science, engineering).
