WATTS Manager, Cloud Operations in Andover, Massachusetts

The Connected Solutions Shared Service (CS3) organization within Watts Water Technologies is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and development of connected systems for all Watts Water Technologies companies globally. The Manager, Cloud Operations is an important role reporting to the Director, Connected Solutions and will be responsible for managing day-to-day Cloud Infrastructure, operational requirements and supporting mission-critical cloud solutions while troubleshooting situations or breakdowns that could arise within our residential and commercial platforms. Performs all other duties as required to support Watts Smart & Connected Product Strategy.The primary objective of the Manager, Cloud Operations is to evaluate, implement and manage applications for IoT solutions, keeping in line with the Smart & Connected strategic vision and goals. Responsible for managing associated cloud environments that are highly integrated, scalable platforms that will be frequently updated in support of our rapidly changing digital business. Watts customers will rely on the performance of this operation to conduct much of their daily business, success in the marketplace will be highly dependent on the performance of our operations.   • Ensure the day to day operations meet internal and customer performance standards required to be successful in the marketplace.

  • Maintain the critical customer facing business systems 24/7/365. In support of our global business, system outages to this critical environment must be minimized and will require immediate support and resolution at any time.

  • Ensure timely resolution of issues, responsible for communicating with all impacted parties the status and resolution of all issues.

  • Maintain very close collaboration with internal and external partners. rapidly troubleshooting incidents and service impairments, triage with engineering/development teams.

  • Will require working cross-business unit / cross-platform to maintain alignment with stakeholder requirements.

  • Collaborate with application development teams, middleware teams and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration within the production environment.

  • Evolve apps & services into the ITIL framework

  • Ensuring availability, recoverability, and performance in system applications

  • Resource & asset management for the platform

  • Strong communication skills, as well as the ability to explain highly technical terms to those who may not have an in-depth understanding of the subject

  • Ability to listen and communicate clearly with different areas of the business

  • Willingness to proactively engage in continuous process improvement

  • Be a self-starter with the capability to work autonomously

  • Manage Active Directory experience, including Group Policy Administration, Replication and Deployment experience

  • DevOps practices and Agile project management

  • Assists with special projects or other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related field desired.


  • This position has direct reports


  • 5+ years of management experience in cloud operations and/or data center operations

  • Experience with Azure DevOps

  • Experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS offerings. Certification preferred.

  • Experience with Networking technologies

  • Experience with cloud storage (Azure Tables/Blobs/Queues, SQL Azure, HD Insight, etc.)

  • Experience with scripting language (PowerShell, Python, etc.)

  • Some programming experience using a high-level language (C#, Java, etc.)

  • Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving live issues in highly available environments

  • An understanding of frameworks such as ITIL, or other virtualization solutions

  • Versed and comfortable in various project methodologies

  • Good communication skills

  • Some travel may be required (less than 20%)
