Schneider Electric’s Secure Power, Home & Business Networks is seeking a candidate who is self-motivated, hard-working, possess excellent communication skills and is a great team player, to join our team in Andover, MA, which is one of our three global R&D centers (US, Greater China, India).

Role Responsibilities

  • Research application of new technologies AND the specification, design and implementation of new product platforms.
  • Work with products such as: DSP/microprocessor based, involving both digital and analog controls, and power conversion.
  • Responsible for digital control, circuit design, component research, selection and specification, troubleshooting and corrective action, and design verification testing.
  • Responsible for expanding relationships with various University Graduate programs
  • Responsible for obtaining US government funding for research programs

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required, and PhD degree preferred.
  • 0-5 years of experience in digital control, electronic circuit design, and power conversion topologies.
  • Knowledge of digital control for power conversion, circuit design including microprocessors, A/D, EMC design rules, and familiarity with a schematic capture tool – required.
  • Familiarity with any of PCB design, mechanical design, SMT manufacturing, programming and/or design verification testing. – preferred.
  • Familiarity with renewable/alternative energy, smart grid/micro-grid, UPS, telecom power, server power – preferred.
  • Background in signal processing, pattern recognition, data mining & classification – preferred.
  • Experience in wide-bandgap semiconductor devices and applications – highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with advanced energy storage (e.g. Li-ion, etc.). – preferred.
  • Familiarity with US government funded research programs – preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral English communications skills – required.
  • Strong interpersonal and team playing skills – required.
  • Advanced creative problem-solving abilities – required.
  • Strong technical publication and invention record – preferred.
