Principal Electrical Engineer - thin film metal deposition (Microelectronics Engineering) An opportunity currently exists for a process engineering support position in the wafer fab of the Microelectronics Engineering and Technology department. The Microelectronics Engineering and Technology (MET) department designs and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter/microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) and modules for defense and commercial applications and is a part of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. In this position, the chosen candidate will be responsible for supporting the Raytheon semiconductor foundry in the area of photolithography. He or she will be responsible for providing floor assistance in a cleanroom environment, pushing experimental wafers through the line and documenting and communicating all measurement results. The chosen candidate will also be expected to work with engineers in various areas of wafer fabrication and process development on next generation technologies. An understanding of basic semiconductor processing and cleanroom experience is desired. This Position can be a Salary Grade G09 or G10 depending on candidates skills and experience. Responsibilities will include some or all of the following: Support the fab by assisting with photolithography tool sets and inspections Working with team members and engineers in the development fab to process and characterize wafers Document and effectively communicate all measurements and processing steps Support the production and development fab in various processing needs Required Skills & Experience Understanding of semiconductor processing techniques and equipment, whether through coursework or hands-on lab experience Desired Skills & Experience Experience photolithography concepts and tools Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills Desire to learn new wafer fabrication skills and willingness to assist team members Knowledge of III-V semiconductors, preferably Gallium Arsenide and Gallium Nitride Desire to work in a semiconductor clean room environment Education Associates degree with 3+ years related working experience or a Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
