Philips Quality Assurance Test Engineer in Andover, Massachusetts


Candidate Responsibilities : You will be part of an established team committed to innovation and contribution, trust and respect, teamwork and uncompromising integrity. This candidate will be a contributor on a multi-discipline product engineering team that develops, verifies and validates solutions based on 3rd-party products for monthly release across the patient monitoring portfolio and beyond. Track new product functionality, maintain and enhance testing infrastructure, integrating new tools and technologies in a continuously evolving environment.

Key elements of the function:

  • Responsible for Reviewing product specifications/requirements and designs from a test point of view and providing feedback to the relevant designer/customer

  • Designing, executing and archiving test concepts & test cases, and report deviations from expected results

  • Reporting of test progress to the Test Lead and/or the designated Test Coordinator

  • Ensure compliance of test documentation with QMS and regulatory requirements

  • Review of Requirements, Specification, and Design documents for testability

  • Review of Design Verification Plans

  • Cross train solution features/functionality

  • Create feature test concepts with support of cross functional team members

  • Lead technical discussions with a focus on cross-functional buy-in and results

  • Interact productively with internal stakeholders as well as suppliers

  • Ability to scope project requirements working cross-functionally.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Biomedical Engineering, scientific or related business discipline; or relevant equivalent education and experience.

  • At least 1 year of Quality Testing experience in a Corporate environment. Healthcare and/or Medical Device preferred, but not required.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, cross-discipline environment

  • Proven ability to develop testing strategies including both automated and script based testing

  • Ability to develop technical documents including design and verification documentation.

  • Experience working with OEM vendors in qualifying solutions that connect to larger systems

  • Experience in medium to large scale systems environment

  • Background in patient monitoring systems based products preferred

  • Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot and triage issues

  • Excellent customer satisfaction and teamwork skills are essential to this role.

  • Ability to lead technical discussions with a focus on cross-functional buy-in and results

  • Ability to interact productively with internal stakeholders as well as suppliers

  • Ability to scope project requirements working cross-functionally.

  • Strong organizational, time management, verbal and written communication skills are required to be successful in this position

  • Self-motivated; willing and able to quickly learn new applications and technologies

Technical skill requirements :

  • Solid familiarity with operations of Windows OS and BIOS

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals

  • Experience with PC based hardware, video displays, peripherals and working with OEM add on solutions

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Experience working within the guidelines of a Quality Management System within a highly regulated healthcare technology environment

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development environment

This role will initially be based in our Andover office. Philips will be relocating this office to a new site at Cambridge Crossing , a large development underway on the Cambridge-Somerville-Boston line. This is a very exciting time to be joining Philips, as this new location will be our largest North American R&D innovation center. The new office is set to open in early 2020.
