The Senior Database Administrator will be reporting to the Director of Operations and will be part of a team that is responsible for the day to day administration of all production and end user systems. This position will require you to be on a 24x7 on-call roster.
Typical duties would include:
Installation, provisioning and maintenance of all database software
Perform backup and restore operations
Publishing new code/changes into all company environments (production, staging, etc)
Monitor and maintain system health, performance and security
Schedule and perform regular server maintenance
Develop and maintain database management procedures
Provide soup-to-nuts technical support and problem resolution
Develop and maintain scripts, stored procedures, views etc.
Be a subject matter expert in the development and tuning of all database objects
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a medium to large, high-availability SaaS environment
BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification
Excellent time management, communication, written and customer service skills
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and decision making skills
Advanced knowledge of SQL Server 2014+ architecture
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2012+, IIS, Apache and SSL
Expert knowledge of high availability environments
Expert knowledge of Transact-SQL (T-SQL), schema design etc
A good understanding of GDPR requirements
Advanced knowledge of performance monitoring and tuning tools such as SQL Sentry, QURE etc
A willingness to keep up to date with developments in technology
Strong familiarity with DNS, security, firewalls, backup systems, and the general processes centered around a datacenter environment
