The Senior Database Administrator will be reporting to the Director of Operations and will be part of a team that is responsible for the day to day administration of all production and end user systems. This position will require you to be on a 24x7 on-call roster.

Typical duties would include:

  • Installation, provisioning and maintenance of all database software

  • Perform backup and restore operations

  • Publishing new code/changes into all company environments (production, staging, etc)

  • Monitor and maintain system health, performance and security

  • Schedule and perform regular server maintenance

  • Develop and maintain database management procedures

  • Provide soup-to-nuts technical support and problem resolution

  • Develop and maintain scripts, stored procedures, views etc.

  • Be a subject matter expert in the development and tuning of all database objects

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a medium to large, high-availability SaaS environment

  • BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification

  • Excellent time management, communication, written and customer service skills

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and decision making skills

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server 2014+ architecture

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2012+, IIS, Apache and SSL

  • Expert knowledge of high availability environments

  • Expert knowledge of Transact-SQL (T-SQL), schema design etc

  • A good understanding of GDPR requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of performance monitoring and tuning tools such as SQL Sentry, QURE etc

  • A willingness to keep up to date with developments in technology

  • Strong familiarity with DNS, security, firewalls, backup systems, and the general processes centered around a datacenter environment
