Mercury Systems Software Engineer in Andover, Massachusetts
In this role you have the opportunity
Work as part of a cross-functional team to design, develop, integrate, and test software for hardware diagnostics in embedded processing solutions.
This role is responsible for
Designing and maintaining modular software to perform hardware diagnostics on embedded processing solutions
Collaborating closely with FPGA designers, software engineers, and other engineering teams to design and develop software for performing hardware fault isolation
Innovating with FPGA and software designers to create a new process for testing hardware by using FPGAs to run hardware diagnostics
Analyzing requirements, creating functional specifications and test coverage documentation for diagnostics
Designing and testing C programs in Linux environment
Support design team in bring-up and test of hardware products
Communicate project status and risks to management team
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
B.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
Minimum of two (2) years of embedded software development experience
Proficient in C/C++
Experience with embedded Linux environments
Familiarity with developing diagnostics and/or drivers
Understanding of digital hardware design/architecture
Demonstrated ability to work independently, seeking out information and advice when necessary
Demonstrated ability to clearly document one's work
Demonstrated ability to develop, debug, and test one's work
Demonstrated ability to work in teams and across functional boundaries
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using, building, and modifying u-boot
Experience with assembly language such as ARM and PPC
Experience with python and/or other scripting languages
Experience with all aspects of FPGA design including design specification, RTL implementation, simulation, programming onto a device, and verification
Experience developing applications and device drivers for embedded Linux environments
Familiarity with revision control and the use of GIT or similar applications
Familiarity with FPGA design tools, such as Xilinx's Vivado Design Suite
Familiarity with FPGA simulation tools such as Modelsim and Questasim
Familiarity with Xilinx's Petalinux tool suite and/or the Yocto Project
Familiarity with protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, and SPI
Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite
